BMCU announced that Madison Garrett, an education major, received the 2026 Linda Anglin Teacher Preparation Scholarship from Mississippi Professional Educators. The university said the award includes $500 and a complimentary MPE membership for her first year of teaching.
A resident of Booneville, Garrett serves as Apple Club president, Eunomian Society president, a lead team member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and vice president of the Student Body Association, BMCU said.
Mississippi Professional Educators, founded in 1979, describes itself as the state’s largest organization for professional educators and says it serves about 12,000 teachers, administrators and support personnel, the organization said.
MPE said it offers an annual scholarship to an MPE student member from each School of Education at Mississippi’s 15 public and private institutions of higher learning.
