Cyclists urged to perform ABC Quick Check for Bike Safety Month
Organizers of Bike Safety Month urged cyclists to perform an ABC Quick Check before every ride, saying routine inspections help ensure bicycles are safe to operate.
The check breaks down to A for air, B for brakes and C for chains, including cranks and the cassette, the organizers said.
They said “Quick” refers to quick-release levers and “Check” means a short test ride to confirm components feel and sound normal.
The organizers encouraged riders to perform the ABC Quick Check each time they ride to reduce the risk of mechanical failure.
