The NWS Memphis warned that heat index values could reach 114 degrees Fahrenheit, creating dangerous conditions.
The agency advised that anyone who must be outdoors should take frequent breaks and stay hydrated, the National Weather Service in Memphis said.
The National Weather Service in Memphis issued the warning and urged residents to follow its guidance until the warning expires at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
