NWS: Heatwave to Persist Through Tuesday; Delta Under Extreme Heat Warning

The National Weather Service in Memphis warned that a heatwave will persist through Tuesday, producing heat index values above 105 degrees Fahrenheit across the Mid-South, the agency said.

The agency said it issued an Extreme Heat Warning for the Delta region for heat index values of 110 degrees Fahrenheit or higher and a Heat Advisory for the rest of the Mid-South for heat index values of 105 degrees Fahrenheit or higher.

Both the warning and the advisory will be in effect from 10 a.m. tomorrow through 9 p.m. Tuesday, the National Weather Service in Memphis said.
