First Lady Elee Reeves, MDOT urge Mississippians to pick up litter

The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) promoted a message from First Lady Elee Reeves urging residents to help clean the state by picking up one piece of litter, the department said.

MDOT said “one piece of litter per person can transform our state” and encouraged Mississippians to join the Pick It Up Mississippi campaign.

The department said it is committed to a cleaner Mississippi and asked residents to contribute by removing litter from roadsides and public spaces.

MDOT said the effort emphasizes small, individual actions carried out “one piece at a time.”
