Forecasters warn of enhanced severe-storm risk in parts of Mississippi
Forecasters warned Tuesday that parts of Mississippi are under an Enhanced Risk (3 of 5) for severe storms on April 28, 2026.
They said the primary threats include damaging winds up to 70 mph; hail up to golf-ball-size; and possible tornadoes, with a strong tornado not ruled out.
Forecasters urged residents to stay weather-aware throughout the day, have multiple ways to receive warnings and know their safe place in case warnings are issued.
They advised monitoring local forecasts and warning systems and to follow any additional guidance issued by local authorities.
