Forecasters warn of slight severe-storm risk for parts of Mississippi
Forecasters said parts of Mississippi are under a slight (Level 2) risk for severe storms Monday, with the greatest threat across portions of southern Mississippi.
The main threat is expected between 3 p.m. and midnight, and storms could produce damaging winds up to 60 mph, forecasters said.
Officials urged residents to stay weather-aware this afternoon and evening and to keep up with the latest forecasts and alerts.
Forecasters also advised people to have multiple ways to receive weather alerts and to know where they will go for shelter if severe weather threatens their area.
