The National Weather Service in Memphis, Tennessee, said hot, dry weather has reduced soil moisture to near-record lows across much of eastern Arkansas and parts of West Tennessee.
The agency posted three maps showing the conditions but noted the maps are a few days old and do not include the first four hot and dry days in September.
