June 1 marks the start of hurricane season, and MSEMA said it has released a new Hurricane Coloring Book for children to help teach safety basics.
The agency said the book features a Preparedness Robot called MEMITE and is designed to help children learn important hurricane safety tips in a fun, engaging and age-appropriate way.
MSEMA said the coloring book is available for download on the agency’s website at https://www.msema.org/prepare/mema-guides-and-publications.
The agency said the initiative is part of efforts to encourage preparedness rather than fear as communities face the season ahead.
