Tupelo man charged with burglary of vehicle after arrest near pizza shop
Javaun O. Wells, 38, of Tupelo, was charged June 25 with one count of burglary of a vehicle, police said.
Police said officers responded June 23 to 1203 North Gloster Street, the Lost Pizza Company, after a victim reported property missing from a vehicle. A witness gave a physical description of a suspect, and officers later located and arrested a man nearby on multiple misdemeanor charges, police said.
Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Sumner ordered Wells held on a $10,000 bond on June 25, court records show.
The Mississippi Department of Corrections placed a hold on Wells, and police said the charges will be presented to the Lee County grand jury.
