MEMA responds after seven tornadoes strike Mississippi
The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency said it is responding to severe weather that impacted the state May 6 and 7, 2026, after the National Weather Service confirmed seven tornadoes touched down on May 6.
The National Weather Service said the strongest twisters were two EF3 tornadoes that struck Franklin and Lamar counties.
