Miss. emergency agency says response continues after May storms

The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency said it and partners continue to respond to severe weather that struck the state on May 6 and 7, 2026.

MEMA said state and local officials, faith-based organizations, volunteers and private-sector partners are involved in response and relief efforts.

The agency said the update includes damage assessments and details on relief operations. MEMA posted the latest information on its website at https://www.msema.org/news/may-6-7-2026-severe-weather-update-5.
