Miss. emergency agency: Lincoln County disaster center closing Saturday

The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency said one Disaster Service Center in Lincoln County will close Saturday, July 25, 2026. The center at the East Lincoln Fire Department will close at 2 p.m., while the center at the Bogue Chitto Fire Department will remain open, MEMA said.

MEMA said residents whose homes or property were affected by the May 6-7 storms (DR-4922) can visit other Disaster Service Centers for help with FEMA applications, information on state and local resources and to speak with U.S. Small Business Administration representatives about disaster loans.

Centers are open in Franklin, Lamar, Lawrence, Lincoln and Wilkinson counties, MEMA said. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and closed Sunday.

MEMA said applicants do not have to visit a center to apply. People can apply online at DisasterAssistance.gov, through the FEMA app or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362). MEMA urged residents affected by the May storms not to wait and to share the information with friends, family and neighbors.
