The Mississippi Department of Transportation urged residents to prepare before storms threaten and offered free resources to help build hurricane-preparedness kits, the agency said.
MDOT said the resources include checklists and evacuation-route maps available at GoMDOT.com/Hurricanes.
The agency said additional 2026 preparedness materials are available in a news release at https://mdot.ms.gov/portal/news_release_view/2738.
MDOT said preparing in advance can prevent last-minute scrambling if an evacuation becomes necessary and encouraged residents to review the online materials before hurricane threats arise.
