Mississippi man gets 12 years for fentanyl trafficking

KEVIN Deshone Dilworth will serve 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to trafficking fentanyl in Mississippi, according to court records. The sentencing occurred on May 7, 2026, in Circuit Court before Judge Kelly L. Mims.

Judge Mims sentenced Dilworth to 40 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, with 28 years suspended. The remaining 12 years will be served without the possibility of parole or early release, under Mississippi law.

Upon completing his sentence, Dilworth will be under post-release supervision for five years. The case was investigated by the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics and the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit, agencies committed to combatting fentanyl distribution in the community.

The prosecution was handled by Assistant District Attorney Megan French for the state of Mississippi. District Attorney Jason D. Herring of the First Circuit Court District announced the sentence.
