Mississippi to Open Disaster Service Centers May 26 After Winter Storm Fern

The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency said Disaster Service Centers for victims of Winter Storm Fern and federal disaster DR-4899 will open Tuesday, May 26, and remain open through Wednesday, June 10.

MEMA said the centers will operate in Alcorn, Benton, Carroll, Coahoma, Lafayette, Leflore, Marshall, Montgomery, Panola, Pontotoc, Tallahatchie, Tishomingo and Yazoo counties.

MEMA said the centers will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The centers will be closed on Sundays, MEMA said.

MEMA said the application deadline is June 10 and that receiving assistance will not affect recipients’ Social Security, Medicare or Medicaid benefits.
