MEMA to open six disaster service centers for May storm survivors

The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency said it will open six Disaster Service Centers at noon Tuesday, July 14, to serve residents who suffered damage in the May 6-7 severe storms, designated as disaster DR-4922.

MEMA said the centers will be open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The agency said it is coordinating the openings with federal and local partners.

MEMA said the centers will be located at the Franklin County Courthouse, 36 Main Street, Meadville; Lamar County Community Center, 105 Central Industrial Row, Purvis; Lawrence County EOC, 1441 F.E. Sellers Highway, Monticello; Bogue Chitto Fire Department, 357 Bogue Chitto Road SE, Bogue Chitto; East Lincoln Fire Department, 3357 East Lincoln Road SE, Brookhaven; and the Wilkinson County EMA Office, 1495 U.S. Highway 61 South, Woodville.
