Partial lunar eclipse will peak at 96% at 11:13 p.m. CDT, NOAA says

A partial lunar eclipse has begun and will peak at 96% at 11:13 p.m. CDT, NOAA/NESDIS/STAR said.

NOAA’s GOES-19 sector view of the Southern Mississippi Valley showed a few cirrus clouds crossing the sky that could affect viewing, the agency said.

Observers can monitor conditions using near real-time GOES-East and GOES-West images published online by NOAA/NESDIS/STAR, the agency said.

NOAA/NESDIS/STAR provided the GeoColor satellite imagery used to track the cloud cover and eclipse conditions.
