The Mid‑South will remain in an extreme heat wave through Tuesday, and dangerous conditions are expected to peak Tuesday, the National Weather Service in Memphis said.
The agency said a Heat Advisory is in effect Sunday for most of the region.
Additional advisories or warnings are highly likely Monday and Tuesday, the National Weather Service said.
The agency urged residents to limit outdoor time and check on neighbors. It warned that heat‑related illness risks increase cumulatively during extended heat waves.
