Police locate and arrest two suspects in Mount Olive shooting case
Mount Olive, Mississippi — Authorities have located and arrested Cortavious Lawayne Hobbs, 18, and Cortavion Dewayne Hobbs, 19, ending a manhunt related to an officer-involved shooting that occurred June 8th.
The shooting took place around 3:38 p.m. in the 200 block of South Bluff Street in Mount Olive, according to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation. Both suspects were believed to be armed and dangerous, with police warning residents to be cautious and to call 911 if they spotted either individual or saw suspicious activity.
Law enforcement described Cortavious Hobbs as a black male, 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 140 pounds, wearing a black hoodie. Cortavion Hobbs is described as a black male, also 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 140 pounds, and wearing a camouflage hoodie. Both have brown eyes and black hair.
Police have confirmed the suspects are in custody, and there were no further incidents during the arrest. Authorities urged anyone with information about their whereabouts to contact 911 or the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation at 855-642-5378.
