Two suspects wanted in Mississippi officer-involved shooting arrested, MBI says
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation said Cortavious Lawayne Hobbs, 18, and Cortavion Dewayne Hobbs, 19, were located and arrested at about 1:20 a.m. on June 9 with no further incident.
Mississippi authorities had sought the two in connection with an officer-involved shooting that occurred June 8 at about 3:38 p.m. in Mount Olive, the bureau said.
The bureau issued a Blue Alert saying the men were believed to be armed and dangerous and could be in the area of the 200 block of South Bluff Street in Mount Olive, Covington County, officials said.
The MBI described Cortavious Lawayne Hobbs as a black male, 18, wearing a black hoodie, 5-foot-6 and 140 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. Cortavion Dewayne Hobbs was described as a black male, 19, wearing a camouflage hoodie, 5-foot-6 and 140 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair, the bureau said.
Anyone with information was urged to call 911 or the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation at 855-642-5378, the bureau said.
