Slight severe-storm risk west of Mississippi River, forecasters say

Forecasters said a slight risk for severe storms is in place today for areas west of the Mississippi River.

They said large hail and damaging winds are the primary concerns.

They added that while a tornado cannot be ruled out, confidence that a tornado will occur is low.

The assessment was issued by forecasters monitoring the storm threat, who urged continued attention to updates.
