Slight risk of severe storms this afternoon near Tennessee River Valley, forecasters say

Forecasters said areas near the Tennessee River Valley face a slight risk for severe weather this afternoon and evening, a level 2 of 5 threat.

They said areas along and east of the Mississippi River are under a marginal risk, a level 1 of 5.

Forecasters said the stronger storms could produce damaging winds, including microbursts, and localized heavy downpours.
