Tupelo man charged with false pretense after attempted check cashing
Tupelo police said Ronnie D. Jordan, 66, of Tupelo, was charged with one count of false pretense after officers arrested him May 20 following an attempt to cash a fraudulent check at BNA Bank, 3041 McCullough Boulevard.
Police said bank employees notified officers that a suspect had tried to cash the fraudulent check and then left the business. Officers located the suspect nearby and took him into custody, police said.
Jordan was formally charged May 21, police said. Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Weir ordered Jordan held on a $5,000 bond, court records show.
Police said the charges will be presented to the Lee County grand jury.
