Tupelo police investigate linked shootings, homicide near George Avenue and Bienville Street

The Tupelo Police Department said it is investigating multiple shooting incidents believed to be related and involving a homicide near George Avenue and Bienville Street.

Officers have established a heavy police presence in the area as they continue the active investigation, the department said.

The department asked the public to avoid the area while investigators work.

The investigation is ongoing. Additional information will be released when it becomes available and when it is appropriate to do so, the department said.
