A weak front will lower dew points and shave a few degrees off temperatures, reducing heat indices for Labor Day, forecasters said.
The change will make conditions more tolerable but not comfortable, forecasters said, noting it will still be hot for the holiday.
Temperatures are expected to be a few degrees cooler through early in the week, forecasters said, with lower humidity accounting for much of the relief.
Forecasters advised people to continue to take heat precautions, including staying hydrated and using sunscreen.
