Volleyball rematches lead Thursday slate
Ripley takes a 17–15 record and four consecutive victories into its home match against New Albany. The Lady Tigers were swept when the teams met in August.
Walnut, 30–4 and riding an 11-match winning streak, welcomes Myrtle. Pine Grove enters its trip to Ingomar at 23–11, seeking to reverse an August sweep by the Falcons. TippahSports.com’s daily schedule lists New Albany Middle School as the site of the Pine Grove match.
Falkner’s volleyball season has ended against Tupelo Christian. TippahSports.com reported no verified completed varsity results for Wednesday, Oct. 7, among the county’s five high schools.
Football and upcoming meets
Falkner visits Riverside for football Thursday at 7 p.m. Friday’s football schedule sends Ripley to New Albany and brings Biggersville to Walnut, with both games listed for 7 p.m.
Falkner’s girls golfers are scheduled to compete at state Oct. 19–20 in Brookhaven. A newly reported school update announced a division runner-up finish and second place individually for Emma Mauney; the report did not establish the competition date. The boys’ next listed division match is Oct. 13 in Booneville at 8:30 a.m.
Blue Mountain’s cross-country runners are scheduled for Dew It On The Trails at Point Mallard Park in Decatur, Alabama, on Oct. 13. TippahSports.com reports the revised schedule has the girls racing at 4 p.m. and boys at 4:30 p.m. All listed times are Central.
