Bill Belichick accuses CBS of deceptive editing in 2025 interview

Bill Belichick said on Fox’s “Hang Out with Sean Hannity” that CBS conducted a 2025 interview with him “very deceptively” and has refused his requests for a transcript, according to the episode that will be available Tuesday.

The segment of “CBS News Sunday Morning” in question showed Hudson saying “not talking about this” when anchor Tony Dokoupil asked how she and Belichick met. The airing drew criticism, and media reports said Hudson interrupted several times and briefly stormed off, delaying the interview by about 30 minutes.

Belichick, an eight-time Super Bowl champion, told Hannity he had agreed to discuss his memoir, “The Art of Winning — Lessons from My Life in Football,” and understood the interview would focus on the book. He said Hudson was trying to steer the conversation back to the book and that CBS had created a “false narrative” with “selectively edited clips.”

Belichick also said the editing concerns were not unique to his interview. He pointed to what he described as past editing problems at CBS involving interviews with political figures and questioned the network’s journalistic conduct.

CBS defended the interview at the time, saying the conversation with Belichick was “wide-ranging” and that “there were no preconditions or limitations” on the discussion, the network said. Fox News Digital said it reached out to CBS News for comment about Belichick’s remarks on Hannity’s show.
