Sen. Ted Cruz and one of President Donald Trump’s outside advisers sparred on social media Saturday after Cruz expressed worry about an emerging deal between the United States and Iran.
Cruz wrote on social media that he was “deeply concerned about what we are hearing about an Iran ‘deal,’ being pushed by some voices in the administration,” according to his post.
An outside adviser to Trump responded on social media, and the exchange became a public back-and-forth between the senator and the administration ally.
The dispute highlighted tensions among conservative voices over the terms of talks with Iran, according to the social media posts between the two figures.
