Dominique Malonga became the youngest player to dunk in a WNBA All-Star Game on Saturday, the league said.
The 20-year-old Seattle Storm center caught a pass from Atlanta Dream star Angel Reese and slammed it home in the second quarter. The Storm said Malonga is the seventh player in WNBA history to record an All-Star dunk.
The WNBA said it was the first All-Star dunk since Sylvia Fowles in 2022. The Storm said Malonga has not yet recorded a regular-season dunk in 63 career games, though she has dunked while playing in Europe and in the Unrivaled league.
Teammate Flau’jae Johnson had joked before the game that she would stop speaking to Malonga if she failed to dunk. The Storm said Malonga is averaging 16.3 points and 8.5 rebounds per game in her sophomore WNBA season.
