Donna Brazile declines to discuss Jill Biden’s stroke comment, urges Democrats to focus on future

Former Democratic National Committee interim chair Donna Brazile declined to discuss Jill Biden’s recent remark that she feared her husband was having a stroke during the 2024 presidential debate, and urged Democrats to focus on future elections, Fox News Digital reported.

“I don’t want to talk about Jill Biden right now,” Brazile told Fox News Digital when asked to respond to the former first lady’s comments, which CBS reported included a fear that President Joe Biden was suffering a medical emergency during the debate.

Fox News Digital pressed Brazile as conversations continued about what went wrong in the 2024 campaign, particularly after calls for and the release of a 2024 DNC autopsy report, an internal review of the party’s defeat, the outlet reported. Referring to herself in the third person, Brazile said, “Donna Brazile will not focus on the past. Donna Brazile want to focus on the future.”

“We made that decision in 2024 when the then-president decided to step down and pass the torch to Kamala,” Brazile said, according to Fox News Digital. A longtime Democratic strategist, Brazile served as interim chair of the DNC in 2011 and 2016 and has been a frequent commentator on the party’s direction.

Fox News Digital noted there has been widespread criticism and debate about how Democrats handled concerns over Biden’s age and cognitive health before he ended his re-election campaign and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris. Brazile reiterated her focus on upcoming contests. “Anyone who’s focusing on the past is not focused on the future,” she said. “I’m actually focused on ’26, ’28, ’32.”
