Former prosecutor Christina Hines was projected to win the Democratic nomination for Michigan’s 10th Congressional District, Decision Desk HQ reported. The projection sets up a November contest with GOP nominee Mike Bouchard.
Rep. John James, R-Mich., is running for governor, leaving the Macomb County district without an incumbent. His decision opened the competitive seat.
The matchup between Hines and Bouchard will be decided in the November general election. Decision Desk HQ made the projection based on returns in the Democratic primary.
Both parties will now turn to the general-election campaign for the open 10th District seat. Campaign details and further results were not available in the projection report.
