U.S. Magistrate Judge Susan Hightower of the Western District of Texas on Thursday ordered Tesla CEO Elon Musk to testify under oath in two cases that allege he defrauded voters in swing states before the 2024 general election.
Hightower directed Musk to sit for a deposition in the matters, the order said.
Plaintiffs in the two cases allege that Musk engaged in a scheme to influence voters in key states ahead of the 2024 election, according to the court filings in the Western District of Texas.
The judge’s order requires Musk to provide sworn testimony as part of the proceedings, the order stated. Further details of the scheduled deposition or the specific allegations were not included in the order.
