Washington’s 4th Congressional District candidates Amanda McKinney and John Duresky are projected to advance to the November general election, according to Decision Desk HQ.
The two candidates emerged from a field of 13 seeking to replace retiring Rep. Dan Newhouse, a Republican who announced in December he would not seek re-election.
McKinney and Duresky will compete for the seat in the upcoming election, with the winner to represent the district in Congress. The race attracted multiple candidates, but only McKinney and Duresky are projected to move forward, based on early results.
Newhouse’s decision to step down opened the race, prompting a competitive primary. The general election will determine who fills the seat in the next Congress.
