Peltola, Sullivan projected to advance in Alaska Senate race

Decision Desk HQ projected that former Democratic Rep. Mary Peltola and Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan will advance to the general election in Alaska’s U.S. Senate race.

The projection indicates both finished among the top four in the primary and will be on the ballot for the ranked-choice general election, Decision Desk HQ said.

It is the third election under Alaska’s new voting system, in which the top four finishers in the primary advance regardless of party affiliation to a ranked-choice general election, according to state election rules.

The projected results set Peltola and Sullivan up to compete in the ranked-choice general election later this year, Decision Desk HQ said.
