Robert White projected to win D.C. Democratic primary for nonvoting House delegate
Democrat Robert White was projected to win the party primary for Washington, D.C.’s nonvoting delegate to Congress, Decision Desk HQ reported.
The contest opened after D.C. Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton announced she would retire after 18 terms, setting up a competitive fight for the seat, Norton said.
The nonvoting delegate position gives the District representation in the U.S. House of Representatives, though it does not carry a full vote on final passage of legislation.
Decision Desk HQ made the projection based on returns, the outlet reported.
