‘Storage Wars’ Star Darrell Sheets’s Son Breaks Silence After Death by Suicide

Brandon Sheets, son of the late reality TV star Darrell Sheets, publicly mourned his father’s death and paid tribute online. Sheets, known for his appearances on “Storage Wars,” died at age 67, according to police in Lake Havasu City. Authorities responded to a call on April 22 and found Sheets with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and the investigation remains ongoing, police said.

In an emotional message, Brandon Sheets expressed love for his father and pledged to honor his legacy. “I love you Dad and I will do my best to live in your honor and respect our family,” he wrote. He also encouraged others to remember the good qualities of his father and continue building memories. “Let’s all continue to build those memories and keep the legacy that is Darrell (The Gambler) Sheets,” he added.

Friends and co-stars of Sheets have spoken out about his struggles prior to his death. Laura Dotson, a fellow “Storage Wars” personality, said Sheets had been “terrified for his life” due to cyberbullying he faced over three years. Dotson told Us Weekly that Sheets was deeply affected by online harassment, which made him feel less than and caused significant distress.

Lake Havasu City police confirmed they are investigating the cyberbullying accusations. Sergeant Kyle Ridgway said authorities are aware of the allegations, which are part of the active investigation. Shortly after Sheets’ death, “Storage Wars” co-star Rene Nezhoda posted a video on Instagram, urging law enforcement to look into the online torment Sheets endured. Nezhoda described Sheets as being targeted by a cyberbully and expressed hope that authorities would take action.

Sheets gained fame as a main buyer on “Storage Wars,” a reality show centered on bidders competing to purchase abandoned storage units. He appeared in over 160 episodes starting in 2010 and earned the nickname “The Gambler” for his high-risk bids. His death has prompted discussions about the impact of cyberbullying and mental health challenges faced by public figures, according to sources.
