Trump urges Republicans to ‘pretend’ he’s on ballot, promises $5,000 per adult

President Donald Trump urged Republicans Wednesday to “pretend” he is on the ballot in November and promised $5,000 for every U.S. adult if the party holds the House and Senate, he said in a keynote address at the Republican National Committee’s midterm convention.

“I’m asking you to pretend that I’m on the ballot,” Trump said. He tied that appeal to a pledge of $5,000 per adult if the GOP retains control of both the House and the Senate, he said.

The remarks were delivered during his keynote address at the RNC midterm convention on Wednesday, where Trump renewed his calls for Republican support ahead of the November elections, he said.
