Tippah County sports roundup, Sept. 18, 2026: Falkner sweeps; BMCU soccer wins 3–0

Falkner rolled past Thrasher for its second straight volleyball win Thursday, while Blue Mountain Christian shut out Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in women’s soccer. Friday brings football at Ripley and a road test for Walnut.

Walker’s serving powers Falkner

Brenlee Walker delivered seven of Falkner’s 16 aces in a 25–8, 25–15, 25–7 home sweep. The Eagles improved to 6–12 overall and 4–2 in district play.

Emma Mauney led Falkner with six kills. Ella Mauney had 17 assists and four aces, and Kady Duncan collected 19 digs. The Eagles next visit Biggersville on Monday, Sept. 21.

Toppers shut out ABAC

Daniela Nieto, Nayelli Aguayo and Alba Hernandez scored as Blue Mountain Christian beat ABAC 3–0 at The Summit on Thursday to move to 2–1 in Southern States Athletic Conference play.

Nieto opened the scoring in the 18th minute. Aguayo added a goal in the 76th, and Hernandez finished the scoring in the 80th. Kiana Gordon made one save for her first clean sheet of the season. BMCU hosts Wesleyan College on Saturday.

Friday football: Walnut travels, Ripley hosts

Walnut (2–1) visits Alcorn Central (1–2) in Glen at 7 p.m. Central tonight, seeking coach John Meeks’s 91st career victory. The Wildcats lead the series 23–5. Alcorn Central’s lone win this season came at home against Falkner.

Ripley hosts East Webster at 7 p.m., according to TippahSports.com’s Friday schedule. Falkner is idle this week and returns Sept. 25 against East Union.
