Falkner survived a late East Union challenge Friday to win 42–34 on homecoming night, while Ripley lost its homecoming game to Booneville 31–21. Ethan Adams scored four touchdowns for the Eagles, according to Jon Myers’ report for Tippah County Sports.
Friday football
Cade Alston forced a fourth-quarter fumble before Jonis Flynn scored the deciding touchdown for Falkner. Quarterback Asa Childs completed 14 of 17 passes for two touchdowns. The Eagles improved to 2–2 and ended a two-game losing streak.
Ripley twice drew within three points of Booneville. Kyran McDonald rushed for 110 yards and passed for 109, but Booneville’s Tony Ogden scored three rushing touchdowns. The Tigers finished with a 285–277 edge in total offense.
Blue Mountain Christian volleyball
Blue Mountain Christian lost to Loyola in a Friday night Southern States Athletic Conference road match in New Orleans. Marissa Gerleman led the Toppers with 10 kills, Abbi Williams had 19 digs, and Brenyn Wilbanks recorded 11 assists, Myers reported for Tippah County Sports.
