Ripley swept Senatobia 3-0 Monday to remain unbeaten in district volleyball, while Falkner beat Biggersville 3-1 for its third consecutive victory, according to new reporting from TippahSports.com.
Ripley moves above .500; Falkner improves to 5-2 in region
The Tigers improved to 12-11 overall and 5-0 in Class 4A Region 3 with the home win. All five of their reported district victories have been sweeps.
Falkner’s road victory lifted the Eagles to 7-12 overall and 5-2 in Class 1A Region 1. Their winning streak includes victories over Wheeler and Thrasher. Falkner next visits Wheeler on Thursday, Sept. 24, at 6 p.m.
Pine Grove’s Monday result at Thrasher remained unreported Tuesday morning. Neither the Ripley nor Falkner report included individual statistics or set-by-set scores.
Ripley hosts Booneville at Tiger Stadium on Friday, Sept. 25, at 7 p.m. for Homecoming. The Tigers are 1-3 after a 34-0 loss to East Webster; Booneville comes off a 62-12 win over Biggersville.
Ripley leads the all-time series 37-29-2 and won last season’s meeting 21-3. The Tigers will try to revive an offense that has scored 15 points during its three-game losing streak.
