Walnut swept Ripley 3–0 Monday to extend its volleyball winning streak to eight matches, while Falkner snapped a four-match skid with a straight-set district win at Jumpertown.
Monday’s results
Playing at home on Senior Night, Walnut improved to 27–4 overall and 12–1 at home. The Wildcats won without dropping a set against Ripley for the second time in three days.
Falkner beat Jumpertown 25–16, 25–8, 25–8 to move to 8–16 overall and 6–3 in district play. The Eagles sit third in Class 1A Region 1 and completed a regular-season sweep of Jumpertown.
Ripley visits Senatobia at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, and Walnut plays at Baldwyn at 6 p.m. Both enter with unbeaten district records: Ripley at 5–0 and Walnut at 7–0. See TippahSports.com’s Tuesday schedule.
On Thursday, Oct. 1, Falkner hosts Biggersville and Pine Grove hosts Saltillo, with both matches scheduled for 6 p.m. Central.
