Diversicare of Ripley Hot Dog Sale Set for Friday, Oct. 16

The Diversicare of Ripley hot dog sale is set for this Friday, Oct. 16, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Every dollar raised will help make Christmas brighter for the residents who live at the Ripley nursing and rehabilitation center. For $8, buyers get a full lunch bag, and organizers are hoping the community turns out to fill up on grilled hot dogs for a good cause.

Ripley Main Street shared the announcement on its Facebook page Tuesday afternoon and asked people to stop by, grab lunch and support the effort.

What the $8 Lunch Includes

According to the event flyer, each bag includes:

Proceeds Support Residents at Christmas

All money raised will go toward the facility’s Christmas plans for its residents. Holiday fundraisers like this one help long-term care staff add extra touches during the season, from gifts to decorations and special activities. For many residents, the staff and the wider community are a big part of what makes the holidays feel like home.

Ripley Main Street, which promotes events and businesses in the historic downtown district, regularly helps spread the word about community fundraisers across Tippah County. The organization is also gearing up for its own fall event, Spirit of Ripley, set for Oct. 30 in downtown Ripley.

Anyone who can’t make it Friday but wants to help can call the facility at the number above to ask about other ways to support the residents’ Christmas.
