Meeting over cell phone service is tonight in Tippah county
A meeting about lack of quality internet and cell phone service is tonight in Tippah county by PSC Brandon Presley. He also announced there will be new rules made to cell service providers.
From the announcement by Presley:
TIPPAH COUNTY FOLKS, PLEASE SHARE:
Our meeting of the Tippah Co. Internet and Cellular Service Task Force is TONIGHT at the Courthouse in Ripley at 7 o’clock. Come and join us!
As part of my effort to protect cellular telephone customers, I’ll be proposing additional consumer protection standards tomorrow that, among other things, do the following:
-Require “Truth In Mapping” so that customers get an honest, transparent and updated map showing the TRUE areas of coverage provided by a carrier BEFORE making a purchase.
-Require carriers to make a full explanation and provide documentation to the PSC regarding areas where cellular device has deteriorated.
-Require a customer service representative be present at any community meeting held by a Commissioner regarding cellular service.
These rules will be applied to any cellular carrier requesting public funds that are administered by the PSC.
