Pine Grove advances to play for third straight state championship
Pine Grove brought a crowd for their Final Four game at 9 o’clock on Monday morning.
The Lady Panthers didn’t let the sea of red down.
Pine Grove raced out to a 12-1 first quarter lead on their way to a 42-35 victory over Leake County.
Pine Grove showed off their defensive prowess, forcing the Lady Gators into 17 turnovers. The Lady Panthers controlled the glass, led by Karlie Rogers with 11 points and 18 rebounds. Loren Elliott got buckets before the halftime and third quarter buzzer on her way to a game high 16 points.
Pine Grove will play in the championship game against the winner of Hamilton and Simmons on Thursday. More pictures and video available on Facebook and Instagram.
