Tippah County sports roundup, Sept. 14, 2026: Pine Grove faces unbeaten East Union; Massengill sets pace
Pine Grove hosts unbeaten East Union at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, leading a four-match volleyball evening for Tippah County teams, while a new report highlights Ripley senior Jenna-Lynne Massengill’s strong start to cross-country season.
Four volleyball matches Monday
The Panthers enter 13–9 against the 23–0 Urchins. East Union won their Aug. 8 meeting 2–0.
Ripley visits Kossuth and Falkner travels to New Site, both at 6 p.m. Walnut hosts Baldwyn at 6:30 p.m., carrying a 19–4 overall record and a 3–0 district mark into its next district matchup. All times are Central.

Massengill builds on personal best
Massengill has led Ripley’s girls in each of her first three meets, with three top-11 finishes. Her season includes a 5K personal best of 21:48.67, good for fifth at the Myrtle Invitational on Aug. 22.
She followed with an 11th-place finish among 153 runners in the Class 4A–7A varsity girls division at New Albany’s NMPHC Cross Country Classic on Aug. 29, running 21:57.9. Ripley next lists the Saltillo Invitational on Sept. 19 and Topper Trails in Blue Mountain on Sept. 24.
