The Mississippi Office of the State Auditor told graduates to never consider any job beneath them and to work hard in everything they do, the office said.

A warm front moving north on Friday could produce one or two severe storms mainly along the Tennessee River, with damaging winds and a possible tornado risk, forecasters said.

The Mississippi Department of Transportation and engineering consultant Garver received the top honor from the American Council of Engineering Companies of Mississippi for the I-10 Diamondhead Interchange Improvement Project, MDOT said.

Tupelo Police Department said officers arrested Exzadrin Deshun Levi, 22, after a display home at Repo Home Center was damaged on May 11. A judge later set a $10,000 bond, and the case will be presented to a grand jury.

The Tupelo Citizens Board recognized Officers S. Jones and T. Ward after they spent time comforting a young autistic child during a traffic stop, the board said. The child’s mother told the board the interaction had a lasting impact, and the Tupelo Police Department said it was proud of the officers.

Northeast Mississippi Community College said Issac Godwin earned his high school equivalency through the college’s Adult Education program at its Corinth campus. The college’s announcement included an apparent name error and several hashtags promoting adult education.

A news release says Gov. Tate Reeves and first lady Elee Reeves hosted Cadet Class 70 as 54 cadets prepare for graduation and careers in public safety.

Program officials said Cadet Class 70 thanked Gov. Tate Reeves and First Lady Elee Reeves for hosting the class. With graduation approaching, 54 cadets remain and officials praised their dedication and the work of TAC officers.

State Auditor Shad White told graduates that family is the most meaningful thing in life, citing a report his office produced on the taxpayer cost of fatherlessness in Mississippi. He said graduates will accomplish much but that starting a family can be among their most meaningful choices.

Allen “Fred” Johnston tests concrete at the Mississippi Department of Transportation’s District 3 materials lab in Yazoo City to ensure samples meet specifications, the department said. MDOT said his work helps keep the state’s highways safe and durable.
