Northeast names Walton, Cook first Mark Lothenore scholarship recipients
Northeast named Starlandria Walton of Holly Springs and Alissa Cook of Rienzi as the first recipients of the Mark Lothenore Memorial Scholarship, the college said.
The scholarship was made possible by the Tristate Providers Network, Northeast said. It is intended to support nursing students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership and financial need while honoring Mark Lothenore’s legacy of compassion and service, the college said.
The announcement did not provide additional details about the award amounts or selection process, Northeast said.
Those interested in creating a scholarship for future Northeast students should contact Patrick Eaton, vice president of institutional advancement and executive director of the Foundation and Alumni Association, at dpeaton@nemcc.edu, the college said.
