Gov. Tate Reeves sets two special elections for Mississippi House seats

JACKSON, Miss. — Gov. Tate Reeves announced that he has set two special elections for Nov. 3, 2026, to fill vacancies in the Mississippi House of Representatives, the Office of the Governor said.

The elections will fill vacancies created by the deaths of Rep. Price Wallace and Rep. William “Bo” Brown, the office said. House District 77 covers Rankin and Simpson counties. House District 70 covers Hinds County.

The qualifying deadline for both special elections is Aug. 20, 2026, the governor’s office said.

The Office of the Governor said writs of election and additional details were included in the office’s announcement.
