Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves Announces Over 100 Appointments to State Boards and Commissions
Jackson, Mississippi — Governor Tate Reeves announced the appointment and reappointment of over 100 individuals to state boards and commissions, highlighting efforts to enhance governance across various sectors. The appointments include positions on health, transportation, environmental quality, education, and law enforcement, among others.
Reeves expressed confidence in the new appointees’ talent and dedication. “I’m confident these appointees have the talent and dedication needed to make our state even stronger,” he said. “I appreciate their willingness to take on these critical responsibilities, and I’m excited to see the positive impact they will make on behalf of Mississippians.”
Among those appointed are Lorie Suzanne Till of Clarksdale and Connie Baird Thomas of Madison to the State Board of Health, representing the Second and Third Congressional Districts, respectively. George Malvaney of Canton was appointed to the Southern Rail Commission, while William Sandroni of Tupelo and Michael Todaro of Flowood joined the State Board of Pharmacy.
Other appointments include reappointments to the Mississippi Arts Commission, the Mississippi Autism Board, the Mississippi State Board of Architecture, and the Mississippi Lottery Corporation Board of Directors. Several law enforcement officials, including Lee County Sheriff Jimmie Howell Johnson and Stone County Sheriff Todd Stewart, were reappointed or appointed to law enforcement boards.
The governor also appointed individuals to the Civil War Battlefield Commission, the Children’s Justice Act Task Force, and various other state agencies focused on development, education, and public safety. These appointments aim to strengthen governance and oversight across Mississippi’s government and public services.
